Building the Tyne Bridge

Dorman Long Collection

From the Dorman Long collection, documenting the building of The George V or Tyne Bridge between 1925 and 1928: a great example of industrial photography.

Designed by Mott Hay and Anderson, it was a smaller version of the one the company had created for the Sydney Harbour Bridge, although the Tyne Bridge was completed first.
