Bitter Harvest
Documentation of the harvest on fruit farms in South Africa’s Western Cape in 1989 – five years before the end of apartheid.
The exhibition explores the conditions of the workforce. As a 1982 report on farm service conditions wrote, ‘The only limit on how low South African farm workers’ wages can go is physical starvation.’
