Surviving on Darlington’s Shop Floors
Manufacturing industry in the Co Durham town, documented in 1980/81 before the photographer joined the Amber collective.
Taken during a series of visits to factories in and around Darlington, it was an attempt at documenting the experiences of workers in the town’s larger manufacturing industries. The exhibition used both words and images, deliberately questioning the ways photographs can depict industry and its workers.
