The Mauretania
The building of the Mauretania, launched in 1906, photographed by various, mostly unknown, photographers, including James Cleet of South Shields.
This exhibition was developed as a historical element to the North Tyneside Survey which also saw Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen’s Interiors, Konttinen and Marketa Luskacova’s Beaches, Luskacova’s Juvenile Jazz Bands, Izabela Jedrzejczyk’s Jungle Portraits and Urban Landscapes, as well as work by Graham Smith. The exhibition was first shown at the Swan Hunter shipyard in Wallsend, where the Mauretania was built.
